John Smith
President / CEO & Founder
John Smith is the President/CEO and founder of Innovative Roofing Systems, bringing 20 years of commercial and industrial roofing experience to the company. A Columbus native raised in Powell, John earned an associate degree in Construction Management from Columbus State and holds multiple certifications in estimating, manufacturer applications, and safety. He's worked his way through nearly every role in the trade—from production laborer and service foreman to service manager and vice president of service—giving him a deep, hands-on understanding of both steep-slope and low-slope roofing systems. John believes a roof is more than a surface—it's a system that protects businesses, reputations, and long-term value. His focus is simple: deliver quality work, clear communication, and solutions built to last. Outside of work, John enjoys time with family and friends, golf, fitness, motorcycles, biking, and traveling. He's also a lifelong Ohio State football fan and a proud dog person—usually with his golden retriever, Winston.
Dave Bolin
Vice President
Dave Bolin is the Vice President at Innovative Roofing Systems and has been with the company since day one. With 15 years in the roofing industry and more than 20 years of construction experience overall, Dave brings a broad, hands-on perspective across commercial, industrial, and residential projects. A Columbus native, he studied Construction Management at Columbus State and holds multiple OSHA and equipment certifications. Dave's favorite part of the job is the finish—seeing a project come together and knowing the work was done right. He's also quick to remind customers that the lowest price rarely delivers the best long-term value. Outside of work, Dave stays active with his kids—mountain biking, climbing gyms, traveling, and training—and he's a diehard Cincinnati Bengals fan.
Haley Smith
Office Manager
Haley Smith is the Office Manager at Innovative Roofing Systems and has been with the company for two years. A Columbus native, she brings a strong operations background from commercial construction sales, bar and restaurant management, and small business ownership—helping keep projects, people, and day-to-day details running smoothly. Outside of work, Haley enjoys the outdoors, art, painting, and crafts, and she's always up for learning something new. She's also a Dallas Cowboys fan and a proud pet mom to Winston the golden retriever and Doot the cat.
Justin Cooperider
Vice President of Service
Justin Cooperider is the Vice President of Service at Innovative Roofing Systems, bringing 21 years of roofing experience and a hands-on service mindset to every job. An Ohio native, he's a graduate of Olentangy High School and Delaware JVS, a journeyman sheet metal professional, and holds multiple roofing and welding certifications. His background spans the full service lifecycle—from lead service foreman and roof inspector to service estimator—so projects are planned and executed with accuracy. Justin enjoys everything from estimating through closeout and believes the lowest price isn't always the best long-term decision. Outside of work, he spends time with family and friends, keeps baseball going year-round at home, and is a lifelong Cincinnati Reds fan.
